Established on January 23, 2001, by lifelong boater Chris Ruggieri, Intrinsic Yacht & Ship was founded on the principle that the company's values should be essential to its very nature. Bret Anderson is the founder of Pyramid Builders, a business he has led and grown for nearly four decades. His leadership has been a driving force behind the company's sustained success and elevated approach to building.

Bret’s deep understanding of building principles and project management formed the foundation of Pyramid Builders, establishing a standard of excellence that continues to define the team’s work. His focus on building strong, lasting relationships with key partners, subcontractors, and vendors has been central to the company’s success, ensuring a collaborative and high-quality approach to every project. His relentless discipline for excellence is the foundation of Pyramid Builders success.

In addition to his work with Pyramid Builders, Bret is recognized for his entrepreneurial vision behind the development of the 
South Annapolis Yacht Centre. He spearheaded the complex project from concept to completion, transforming it into the premier waterfront destination it is today. This undertaking stands as a testament to his ability to manage large-scale, intricate developments with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. Bret’s ownership and clear vision, created a world-class marina facility and leading boating destination.

Bret also is a co founding partner in daylyy, a leading social media platform dedicated to making social media human again. In this capacity, he leverages his extensive experience in construction and business development to provide strategic guidance on growth initiatives, helping the company identify new opportunities, streamline operations, and navigate complex challenges.

Additionally, Bret is a co-founding partner of White Hall Technologies, an innovative firm dedicated to creating advanced digital solutions at the intersection of technology and infrastructure. The company specializes in designing and developing mobile applications and integrated platforms that solve complex operational challenges, streamline processes, and enhance user experiences. CHRIS RUGGIERI

A lifelong boater with a deep-rooted passion for the water, Chris Ruggieri is the founder and owner of Intrinsic Yacht & Ship. Boating was part of his story long before he was even born, his mother owned a boat before she owned a car, and his grandfather’s influence ran even deeper. Growing up on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, Chris spent his childhood sailing with his parents and cruising with his grandfather, who shared a close relationship with John Rybovich, the legendary inventor of the modern sportfishing boat. Those experiences instilled in Chris not only a love for the water, but also a profound appreciation for craftsmanship, performance, and the enduring sense of community that defines the boating lifestyle.

After college, Chris took on a simple summer job selling boats, which quickly evolved into a full-fledged career. He immersed himself in the industry, dedicating himself to mastering every detail of boat design, from hull structures to onboard technology. It was during this period that he also began building the lasting relationships with clients who shared his enthusiasm for the water.

The inspiration for the company's name came during a trip to St. Thomas with a client, where a yacht named "Intrinsic" captured his attention. Upon learning the definition—"belonging naturally; essential"—Chris realized it perfectly embodied the values he wanted to build his company on: authenticity, integrity, and a deep-rooted commitment to excellence.

Today, Chris remains the driving force behind the company's success. His extensive knowledge, combined with hands-on experience from building highly customized demo boats and competing in sportfishing tournaments across the Mid-Atlantic, makes him uniquely equipped to match clients with their perfect vessel. For Chris, boating is more than a career; it is a way of life, and his personal passion is at the heart of the company's mission.
